KICKING ON THE RUN

The name says it all; perfect kicking on the run and kicking accuracy!

AFL NAB Auskicker are kicking and running for the ball
AFL X Football x1 football
AFL X1 Cone Handball x5 cones

HOW TO SET UP

Put two cones a step apart on one edge of the playing area, two more cones on the opposite edge, and one cone in the middle.

Send one player to each end of the playing area, and have them stand between the cones. Give one of them a ball.

Send a third player to the middle cone.

Replicate this setup as many times as you need to suit the number in your group.

AFL Put the cone in different edge of the playing area. Auskicker can stand in each cone with the ball.

LET'S PLAY

The player with the football starts by facing away from the others.

They must run to their left or right around a cone, then kick to the player in the middle.

LET'S PLAY

The player in the middle marks or retrieves the ball and turns and kicks to the player at the other end.

Then the game repeats.

Players swap positions after a few turns.

VARIATION 1

Try having two players in the middle competing for the ball.

Try having the player in the middle run on an angle- leading for the ball.

Encourage Auskickers to try kicking on their opposite foot.
