AFL Gear Cone x1-2 cones
AFL Football Gear x1 football or round ball
AFL X1 Adult Handball x1 adult

(1 adult: 1 Auskicker ratio)

HOW TO SET UP

The Auskickers line up behind their cone. They face their adult who stands a few metres away. The Auskickers can grab any kind of shaped ball they want.

In AFL The Auskickers line up behind their cone. They can grab any kind of shaped ball they want.

STEP 1

First up it's free-kicking time! Everyone enjoys fun kicking practice however they want.

STEP 2

After a few minutes, get everyone listening and explain that kicking has three parts:

1.The ball drop.

2. The Kicking action.

3. Pointing the toes.

Show the Auskickers how they should drop the ball(guiding the ball down over their kicking leg). As they try it themselves, encourage them as they focus on this part.Everyone puts down their balls. Show them the way to move their leg to kick! (E.g. point toes in the direction they want to kick the ball). Have the Auskickers practice this without a ball.
