(1 adult: 1 Auskicker ratio)
HOW TO SET UP
The Auskickers line up behind their cone. They face their adult who stands a few metres away. The Auskickers can grab any kind of shaped ball they want.

STEP 1
First up it's free-kicking time! Everyone enjoys fun kicking practice however they want.

STEP 2
After a few minutes, get everyone listening and explain that kicking has three parts:
1.The ball drop.
2. The Kicking action.
3. Pointing the toes.
Show the Auskickers how they should drop the ball(guiding the ball down over their kicking leg). As they try it themselves, encourage them as they focus on this part.Everyone puts down their balls. Show them the way to move their leg to kick! (E.g. point toes in the direction they want to kick the ball). Have the Auskickers practice this without a ball.

STEP 3
Let them try with their ball, but concentrating on their new skills of: how they drop the ball;how they kick with their leg;how they point their toes.

STEP 4
Put a cone between the Auskicker and the adult and ask them to have a go at kicking their footy over the cone. Maybe then can even try kicking the ball over the adult's head!

VARIATION 1
See if the Auskickers want to try using their opposite foot to kick.

VARIATION 2
They can swap to a different shaped ball.

VARIATION 3
Kick to a different target(such as a hoop).

VARIATION 4
The more advanced Auskickers can aim for a moving target, like the coach!

Cool Kicks helps Auskickers understand the importance of their ball drop(especially that it lands on its pointly end), kicking action and being able to make the ball travel to hit their target.
