AFL Nines at Byron
Returning on October 25th & 26th, the two-day carnival will see teams from across Australia come together to compete for prize money across multiple divisions.
The event will be held at Byron Bay Cavanbah Centre - Sports & Cultural Complex and welcomes anyone aged 18+ to play, with 9-15 players per team.
Team registrations will open to the public in early May, however you can learn more and express your interest now.
Expressions of interest are now open for the two-day AFL Nines at Byron event. With multiple divisions available, you can register for a grade that suits you and your team.
With changes to our divisional offerings, we anticipate this year’s competition to sell out, so don't miss out and ensure your expression of interest is lodged. Offerings include:
- Master's Mellow - 35+ (relaxed vibe)
- Master's Seasoned - 45+ (relaxed vibe)
- Men's
- Women's*
- Mixed - minimum of three females on the field
* The Women’s division is a brand-new offering and is currently an expression of interest stage only. Should there be enough interest by Monday, 1st July, we will provide this as an offering for the 2024 competition.

- Competition match play rules may differ slightly to local AFL Nines competitions.
Match fixturing will occur from four weeks out, resulting in confirmation of when your team will be playing (either Friday/Saturday or both). With this in mind, our recommendation is that teams arrive on the Thursday, ready for matches to start on Friday.
