Football clubs are the backbone of many communities and provide opportunities for men and women to participate in football competitions from a social to sub-elite level. Players can enjoy heightened fitness, improved communication skills and a great sense of teamwork.
WHAT IS SENIOR FOOTY?
Senior Football caters to players in an open age group, with no limit on how old a player can be to participate. Games are played under full Australian Rules match conditions, in varying grades depending on the strength of the individual team.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT SENIOR FOOTBALL
Whilst there is still a strong social element to the game, given the open age nature of the competition participants can expect increased competitiveness between Clubs with a stronger desire to be successful evident.

SENIOR WOMENS FOOTBALL
Many Community Leagues now run standalone open age Women’s competitions to cater for the increased amount of interest in Female Football. Dependent on the number of teams in each League, these competitions may also be graded according to team strength.
SENIOR X (AFL 9s)
9x the fun! AFL 9s is the AFL’s social version of the game. It’s a fast, free-flowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field.
Best of all, it’s ‘touch football’ with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level. Importantly, AFL 9s is easy to play, not too physically demanding and provides an environment where fun, enjoyment and safety are the priority.
AFL 9s enables people of all ages and ability levels to participate in male, female or mixed competitions that fit around their busy lives and provide a social and fitness outlet.
