NAB AFL Auskick Guiding Principles
The program aims to ensure participants receive the best introduction to Australian Football, develop an ongoing passion for the game and of course, have maximum fun.
The guiding principles of the NAB AFL Auskick program are the following:
- Small groups in a small playing area
- Learning through games-based activities
- Use equipment that best supports each Auskickers needs
- Importance of fundamental motor skills
- "Change it up concept
Activity Types
Each level in the Auskick program provides four key activity types that help progress Auskickers from learning the basics through to preparing for the transition to junior football.
Fundamental Motor Skills - Learning and mastering basic functional movement.
Evasion and Invasion Games - Fun games that replicate match scenarios.
Football Specific Skills - Learning and practising specific AFL skills.
Match Play - Small sided mini matches for maximum involvement.
